Our Community

ElderGrace is located conveniently in central Santa Fe, close to public transportation, restaurants, shopping areas, and other services. The community features fully accessible pathways throughout the site, as well as access to nearby nature trails, parks, and the city’s largest community center. The site is within walking distance of bus stops on Cerrillos Road, served by the city bus route #2.

Arroyo Chamiso Trail. Just steps away from the porches at ElderGrace is the Arroyo Chamiso Trail, a paved bike/pedestrian path that runs for five miles from St. Francis Blvd to Nave Ade. From this trail, one can access Santa Fe’s Rail Trail, extending 11 miles from Santa Fe to Lamy. Heading in the opposite direction, one can bike all the way to the newly re-developed Railyard, located in downtown Santa Fe.

Genoveva Chavez Community Center. Another easily accessed amenity is the Genoveva Chavez Community Center that offers an array of fitness classes, gymnasium and indoor track, aquatics center, ice-skating arena, and a well-outfitted weight room. The GCCC is located approximately 2.5 miles by car from ElderGrace and a few minutes walk if one uses the Arroyo Chamiso Trail.

Shopping, Entertainment, Restaurants. Large retailers such as Borders, Target, Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, TJ Maxx, Home Depot, and Staples are minutes away, as is Santa Fe’s newest movie theatre, a fourteen screen venue with stadium seating. Santa Fe Place, a regional shopping mall, Albertson’s, a national chain grocery store, and the Natural Grocer, a health food grocery store are also easily reached within a mile or two from ElderGrace. Other conveniences in the area include several local and national restaurants that featuring a variety of cuisines – New Mexican, Greek, Italian, Mexican, and Asian, among others. Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and several medical complexes are located approximately five miles from ElderGrace, as is the Santa Fe Community College.

Political Jurisdictions. ElderGrace is located in City Council District #4, County Commission District #5, State Representative District #45, State Senate District #24, Public Regulation Commission District #3, U.S. House of Representatives District #3.
